Was it causing heavy CPU usage @Chris Timothy ? There are a couple of graphical things (built-in CSS animations) that I've noticed do that on a few browsers, despite supposedly being 'seamlessly' integrated into modern browsers.

I was gonna say, my 11 year old CPU handles the site fine... but it's an i7-860 so it still packs more punch than most modern laptops on the cheaper side offer.

I can end up multitasking quite a bit, that's how I get in the situation of noticing a site taking a cpu core to its own.

But so yeah, it came and went.

You may begin noticing some new thread prefixes. We're using Social, Official (for the PD Index mega-threads like the Big & Dandies), and Warning. We may implement some others to categorize thread types, but haven't decided yet.
