It's funny, the 18 year old me would have no clue about what I'm going to say, but sometimes I feel like art (in the widest sense possible) is really all we have. If what we do isn't art, why the fuck should we even bother? Seriously! The plants do it, silently, the other animals do it instinctivly, with a bit more action and noise; if we don't put our minds in the service of something truely novel, something that fosters attentiveness and ... in whatever way, it's nothing but a conditioned repetitive (and sadly destructive/eroding) shitshow. Why bother? But maybe it's all art, and I'm just too deluded and closed-minded to recognize it? Hand me some drugs, please! I always loved listening to these talks of Terence McKenna where he goes on (and on) about the Tao or Taoism and stuff, I found that to be very relateable and uplifting in the past. (Perhaps I should go for some.. *searching my archive*.) There is also a passage that.., ha, the internet is making it easy for me (someone already made a snippet of it), enjoy:
