So today I went and got the vivitrol shot after a small stay in detox with a short term methadone taper. I just wanted to post my personal experience to maybe help other people. I will update as time goes on.
DAY 1- Got the shot at 1030 today. Decided for some dumb reason to pickup because I read on another post you can still get 50% effect before 12 hours after the shot. I can personally say this isn't true. Tried to breakthrough from 4pm to 6pm with powdered street fentanyl. No effects whatsoever besides shortness of breath. Which definitely made me nervous as the amount I did would of made me OD with the amount of clean time I've had since last dose of methadone. So pretty much directly after the shot fulling blockade effects begin. All I felt was sick after which I'm sure it's due to the fent being forced right back out.
