^ Yep see a GP, it's not available over the counter. I wouldn't recommend you order it online given that it can be seized by customs if not accompanied by a prescription from an Aussie doctor and you can't guarantee the quality of the end product you're getting.

Personally I'd say you would be better off treating the anxiety rather than relying on viagra?

I'll leave this thread open for now for discussion of viagra and effects only. I've edited the title accordingly. No availability & souring discussion please.

You might have better luck discussing the anxiety issues in the sex, love and relationships forum acidprime?

Viagra will only help you get an erection. It doesn't take away anxiety or boost your libido, and it can side effects that might add to your anxiety.

I would suggest tackling the anxiety as belarki suggested.

And also if you do need to get it, get it legitimately from a doctor.

Agreed with the top two guys.

Dude, if you're about to bone a filthy pussy the last thing you want is Viagra if you're nervous about fucking. Talk to your GP about Impotence associated with pre-sexual encounters anxiety issues that you've been having.

I agree that dealing with the psychological issues would be best, but that takes time. I haven't heard of anyone having any problems with anxiety from Viagra, it's often taken by people in your situation.

Not sure what Mr. Squiggle means by "the last thing you want is Viagra if you're nervous about fucking"...

Perhaps it has something to do with Viagra increasing blood pressure + heartbeat rate which has an effect on ones anxiety?

I think the only scenario that Viagra would be of any help is if you have concerns about maintaining an erection/ satisfying your partner. As with most drug use though, Viagra would only be a band-aid solution. As others have mentioned, you are better off addressing the underlying anxiety issues. Also, isn't there a viagra-like drug that isn't as punishing on the body? I can't remember the name atm.

Adverse effects of sildenafil (Viagra):

Common
rash, diarrhoea, UTIs, abnormal vision

Rare
tachycardia, hypotension, syncope
The category uncommon also lies between common and rare, so rare is actually rare.

Also, my understanding is anxiety -> tachycardia, not the other way around (unless the anxiety is actually about your heart rate)

I've not heard of anxiety from Viagra before, so unless someone has personal experience of it I'm putting it down as yet another drug myth ;)

There are a few other medications for erectile dysfunction, mainly in the same class as sildenafil (phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors). Your GP should be able to give you information and advice about the best approach to your problem, though you may need to see someone with more experience in the area. GPs are notoriously neglectful of areas that do not interest them, commonly mental health, sexual dysfunction, etc.

I'm under 30, but have anxiety issues before sex .
Bro, not meaning to sound like a dick, but if you're under 30, your having anxiety issues, as you call them before sex, are you sure you are into females?. I'm being very serious here, perhaps there is an underlying cause for this? Because I cannot understand how a straight, fit, healthy (I assume), male, would be anxious before getting in and having some fun with a lovely member of the opposite sex!?

Anyway, don't take Viagra, it'll only make it worse. As everyone has said, address the psych issues before looking at alternatives to get you up.

Fist post on here and I strongly disagree with the previous replies. I think they original poster should get some cialis from his GP and fix the problem.

I'm under 30 and have had similar probs- it's so ingrained that you cant just fix the underlying anxiety .. but cialis will fix the problem and THEN you can get over the anxiety.

In my case I used it to get through the first time in a new relationship and then I'm fine after that.

The OP didn't actually mention he had problems with getting an erection, just that he had anxiety. OP, are you having trouble obtaining and maintaining an erection? Or is it just the anxiety?

I think he means, he is getting anxiety from the fact that he cant get an erection. If so then viagra is a perfectly legit way to get over it.

I've had more than one friend who was having trouble with getting a hard on with a new girlfriend and after using viagra once or twice the anxiety was gone and the viragra was not needed any more.

My first mate that got it told his GP about his problem and (supposedly) got 2 pills free.

Also herbal remedies like horny goat weed aren't worth the money.

^ Yeah horny goat weed can be expensive and from what I have read often doesn't deliver results.

Sildenafil can have some negative side effects, more then Divine Moments listed in his post. The OP should use it for the first few times to help him get over his anxiety and obtain an erection, then go without.

Where is OP anyway? I would like his clarification.

Id have to say its better to get it prescribed. For one reason there are alot of fake viagras circulating and online its just plain risky. Its never a good idea to import prescription drugs/meds into Australia. If u have anxiety problems i suggest u see a councilor or a doctor to seek the right medication for u to treat it, there are other alternatives as well which they can discuss with u which are non medicated.

Tackle the anxiety if that is an option you havn't already explored.
However, the rest of the above post is incorrect. Viagra Will help you to some extent with both libido and anxiety.

Hypothetically if you had the opportunity to down some V while you were hanging out with just your girlfriend at home, you would deffinatley feel a surge in libido and you would just wanna get it on with her. Although viagra doesnt work to stimulate the areas of the brain responsible for your libido to the same extent as Cialis, you deffinatley *feel* sexually energized from it.

I actually took some the other week before closing the deal with this bird who had came back to my house, but unfortunatley she ended up bailing out on me! This is about T+45 min and I was so horny now, yet wasnt rock hard cause the source of my sexual stimulation had vanished, so I went back out again at 12:30am determined to find a new girl.. unfortunatley like too often my night ended alone with my lips around the bong. gaylord

^ I am not incorrect. Sildenafil is not an aphrodisiac. If you don't have the sexual desire in the first place, it is not going to put it there for you. Only the means to act on it.

Tadalafil (Cialis) is the same. You are wrong that it has some superiority over sildenafil in that respect, it is exactly the same; it is not a libido booster. It simply has a longer half-life over sildenafil.

Anxiety about sexual activity is one of the most common sexual problems of men. It's normal for you to feel pressure and stress because you want to amaze your partner or cause doubts about your body.

However, stress may cause severe anxiety, even if a person is physically healthy, and may have sexual dysfunction. Work disorders often cause erectile dysfunction, but it also causes early release. If you're afraid you might be getting into an early charge, you can go for ED drugs available

Melbourne - Does it best.
It's up to you, but I would honestly just see your gp. Viagra is a very easy no questions asked script to get from my experience. Better to get it legit than risk it geting help up at customs or geting fake net ones.

When I've done it in the passed I literly just went in and said "Hi thanks for seeing me. I was wondering if I could get a viagra script please as work has been stressing me out lately and I'm finding it difficult to stay focused" then both times the go has said that's fine and printed the script.
