Two refused bail over drugs
October 8, 2004

TWO men charged with drug offences after the drug-related death of a Sydney teenager were refused bail today in a Sydney court.

Leif Ibrahim, 18, of Llandilo, and Andrew Parker, 22, of Quakers Hill, today faced Blacktown Local court, charged with various drug offences including possession and supply.

Their arrests followed the death of a 19-year-old Sydney woman who is believed to have collapsed early on Saturday after taking half a tablet of a party drug the night before. She died on Sunday.

Police were awaiting the results of a post mortem examination to establish the cause of her death.

Ibrahim faced one charge of possessing a prohibited drug and two of supply/knowingly taking part in the supply of a prohibited drug.

Parker faced eight drug charges, including one count of supply, three counts of possession, and possession and cultivation of a prohibited plant.

A court spokeswoman said Magistrate Dennis Burdett formally refused bail and ordered the pair to reappear in the same court on October 15.

An unfortunate step in the path towards Government funded pill testing.

Its sad that people have to die for things to progress.

You wont have our current state government (NSW) doing anything about it until someone dies. Maybe now it will happen.

she died the day after eating the pill?

she suffered brain-bleeding and died shortly after ingesting the pill.

news.com.au has a big story on it.
