I feel like most people here scoff at Tramadol as a recreational drug, but I'd really like to get some more info here, if possible. Can anyone tell me what concerns there would be for someone taking 50-150 mg of Tramadol daily for years? It seems like this is a pretty low dose, but I'm not sure about over such a long time frame if there would be concern for liver damage, kidney damage, permanent brain damage, etc? Thanks for the help!

Tramadol is fairly safe for the long term, the only issue is the seizure risk. Some people have reported seizures on doses as low as that even after years of having no side effects.

50mg of tramadol, 1-3 times per day, should be perfectly safe, unless you are taking a ton of other meds that interfere with liver enzymes or serotonin reuptake, or otherwise affect the seizure threshold.

I loved taking Tramadol (Ol tram)recreationally for a few months and only after learning about it lowering of the seizure threshold i just dont dare to take it anymore.
