I accidentally ran it for about 4 mins without anything in it and now it won't heat the pot pie I was trying to have.

Damn... that does sound broken. I always wondered what would happen if you did that.

Just googled it and it damages the magnetron which means it can't heat effectively. Sorry man. :\

You can use your regular oven, it takes longer, but it also is way better, microwaves give things weird textures.

Goddamn it! Yeah, I ended up using the oven which also has something wrong with it. I swear everything's falling apart here and no one seems to care.

Not really, the magnetron damages pretty hard and I don't think it got broken because he didn't heat anything while running, I did that too, it's also a test they do when you wanna see if it's workin or needs any fix while buyin. See this ( click on it )

I've done that for at least 10 minutes and not broken the microwave.

They have a safety cutoff mechanism to prevent this kind of damage (unless it's a shit microwave)

Unplug it, then leave for 24 hours and try again.

(Perhaps this is only true of products covered by EU regulations - which a pathetic majority of my countrymen seem to have a problem with...)

EU? This is a 'Murican microwave he's talking about you damn socialist commie!

Yeah you fucked it up, microwaves are tolerant of about 30 secs but that's it and over and out.

Me mum did the same thing to hers and kept a cup of water in hers when we were kids just in case we fucked around with it.

She took mine to use so I lost mine too. :(
