I have been using .25 every other day for about a month. Over the last 4 or 5 days i have used maybe half of that and the last two a little less then that. I am hoping to make what comes next easier. Will what i have done help me at all?

Most definitely it will help you. The smaller your habit, the smaller your withdrawal :)
 
yes, tapering down will limit your wds, but you'll have to face them sometime.
