Id like to know if its brain damaging (is nuerotoxic the right word?) as well. I did read that one side effect noted above, sounds pretty bad... Maaan Ive only used this stuff a couple times after taking 'study aides' and not being able to sleep. I broke the smallest piece (approx 25mg) off a 300mg pill my bipolar buddy gave me and holy shit I cant imagine taking that whole pill.

I don't abuse Seroquel. I'm scripted 100mgs before bed to help me sleep. I do like the warm and safe feeling it gives me and others may find a sense of well being from it too. I don't get high persay from it, but I do enjoy the effects very much. They are shortlived because I fall asleep with 30 minutes of taking it.

One thing I have noticed, I started out at 25mgs and now am at 100mgs. Tolerance DOES play a role in longterm usage.

I almost agree. Its definitly not recreational in the fun sense but I think its one of the best tools for getting to bed and dumbing down a stimulation. I wouldn't hate on it the least bit. Kinda keeps your own mind from attacking you during a comedown, so i agree with the 'safe feeling' it might give you. Dont abuse it but it is extremely useful in my opinion.

Be safe everybody.

Some authors like Peter Breggin call some effects that can occur from seroquel, like tardive dyskinesia, brain damage. Most specialists would argue with that terminology. Very rarely serequel could cause neuroleptic malignant syndrome which could cause brain damage.
The big reason to not take seroquel unless you really need it is that it is not an enjoyable drug and it has complicated side effects and risks. No gain or pleasure + complicated risks= pass it by even when it is free, IMO.

As an occasional sleeper most risks would be far less.

if you seriously wake up on anti psychotics feeling "nice" you might have some fundamental issues to deal with, and are most likely schizophrenic or bipolar to begin with 8)

LISTEN: Nobody in the fucking world who is in their right mind wakes up after a dose of 200mgs seroquel and thinks "Hey, i feel good today"... But you obviously seem to enjoy this. I urge you to see professional help. No joke buddy.
Bull shit. My prescription is now 200mg a night, and I still can't get to sleep sometimes. I let the first half of my dose dissolve in my mouth, tastes like shit and makes my mouth numb. When I wake up, I'm fine.

Don't take it recreationally, there's too much other shit out there to have to settle with Seroquel. AND DO NOT SNORT IT!! EVER! It burns like the mother fucking flames of hell. It was like Satan's flaming chariot of sin was passing through my nasal cavities. I distinctly remember the night I decided to become the douche of the decade by snorting some Seroquel. Took my regular dose, couldn't sleep still at 4AM, so decided to try snorting. Snorting handfuls of water helped mildly.

Sorry to double post, but I feel this is an important tidbit of info.

A close friend of mine experienced NMS after raising his low starting dose of Seroquel. He was in a coma for a week and on life support.

Please people, don't fuck around with Seroquel unless you are prescribed it and under the close supervision of a medical professional. Seroquel has been a godsend for me, but I am prescribed it therapeutically.

Seroquel is about the best thing when you just cant sleep. It takes 2-3 hours to knock me out though, which is a bit of a bitch at times...
