Self administering botox on forehead?

Just an update on self treatment with botox.

Outlets I'm familiar with so far seem to primarily ship South Korean product.
Alibaba from China ships that outlined below, but they all seem to come from South Korea anyways, not China - alibaba are just doing middleman work (though you can buy with trade assurance which one can't get from direct suppliers).

Direct south korean suppliers I've found are:
- Dermics
- Vianacare
- Acecosmetica
- Cosmetica sublime

There are a number of different south korean botox manufacturers;

These are some brands (there's a couple more) - and among them they seem to vary in potency.

The primary FDA approved manufacturer is Allergan (US manufactured).

"Filler world UK" does advertise botox and has a 5 star rating on trustpilot, but haven't read much on facebook groups etc about orders from them.

In addition to, their prices are about the same as getting botox done in a local clinic.
Might as well get a Dr to do it for me at those prices.

Point behind researching self admin botox is, at $300 for 3 areas, requiring 3 time a year administration to keep forehead lines at bay - cost saving is the aim.

**
As to south korean brands - I understand the strongest is called "Nabota" - but it was also listed online as being mass recalled in Thailand couple months ago for some reason.

I've tried "Botox" (top left) and "botulax" (bottom right of that picture).

First was very weak.
Botulax, not sure yet - just a few days post injection, but I used the entire vial (100 units) so I don't think it's too strong.

Are you using Botox as a monotherapy to treat your wrinkles or do you use it in conjunction with anything anti-aging related?

I had tried Tretinoin - which takes forever for any effect and causes photosensitivity so I quit that.

I tried every topical skin treatment, vitamin C, toner, moisturizer etc.
For forehead lines, nothing doing.

I tried acupuncture and microneedling for collagen induction - again, nothing doing.

Then I tried using strong makeup primers to fill in the lines topically, but to no real effect.

....

Probably a couple other things I tried but nothing worked.

Consulted with a skin doctor who said forehead filler is too dangerous cause of vascularity in the forehead and botox was really the only option.

There is a plastic surgery option to remove skin from beneath the brows alleviating tonicity in the forehead muscle/fontalis;

Anyways - to answer your question - essentially yes.

I am just using botox at the moment.

....

However, I recently ordered some PDO threads for collagen induction (which I've heard some good news about so have to try out of curiosity if nothing else);

So I'll be trying them shortly in addition to botox to see if they improve long terms results.

Forehead lines are really the primary target as they developed for me even at a young age, probably due to overthinking shit - and botox yields results within a couple days so, so far so good.

PS - I'm rather obsessed with getting rid of forehead lines as I'm 32 but party with college girls all the time, so gotta conserve that more youthful appearance for as long as possible to avoid looking like the old man at the bar.

I got to add also, the last vial of botox I got was so weak it just didn't affect my forehead furrows as required.

I was concerned I wasn't a good candidate for botox, basically.

More recent vial, whilst not SUPER strong (I had to double up on recommended dose), has completely evened out my forehead.

So naturally I'm thrilled with this result cause, I felt like old man punter every time I'd catch a glimpse of myself, but now I've a perfectly smooth forehead.

i.e. botox is the real deal.

What kind of sun screen did you use on a topical retinoid? That adjustment period goes away with time and repeated applications. As long as you just adhere to proper use of sunscreen and a nice lotion with a ceramide profile, you'll get good results with retinoids.

How often did you use it per week? And are you fair skinned or do you have a natural tendency to tan?

Consistently, every day or other day for about 3 months.
Had good cleansing, moisturizing routines at the same time (different time of day) and use 12 hour sunblock with retinoids.

It seems to work wonders with some - for me it did little - certainly in terms of fine lines (though to be fair, they were heavier than just "fine").

Super fair skinned normally though, I use melanotan so have a decent colour since I started that.

I still use retinoids from time to time for general skin well being, blemishes etc, but for brow lines botox is just more powerful/effective 10x.
I think obviously as retinoids are never going to affect underlying muscle tonicity that causes brow lines.

I know I’m a guy and not suppose to use this stuff, but I use this bentonite clay 2-3times a week, my justification is I smoke a lot so I need something to counteract all that smoking damage

Takes time but if you use it regularly will tighten and make your skin look a lot better, something about increasing blood flow to the skin

Botox is made from children blood right? I've heard from a biologis' that if you wire your mainlines to two-three baby's veins their blood somehow makes you rajeuny. The jouvence fontaine!

Can we confine this discussion to facts not flights of fancy, please.

Botulinum toxin (BOTOX) is a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum and related species. It prevents the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine from axon endings at the neuromuscular junction, thus causing flaccid paralysis. Infection with the bacterium causes the disease botulism.

Thanks

One thing to consider, and I say this as a person who gets Botox on my forehead every 3 months, there have been a few times when the Botox was injected in such a way that I had eyelid ptosis. This means droopy eyelids. And it lasts for a few months. This happened with professionals who do Botox injections regularly. There are a lot of nerves and unless you really know physiology and the cranial nerves, I wouldn’t attempt it.

Edit: I am getting Botox for the prevention of migraines. I still get a few but they are reduced in frequency and duration.

Good vid, talks about immunity to botox.

There's a new purified version synthesized that avoids antibody formation.

"Xeomin".

Not listed on any sites so far.

I've been doing my own botox for about 7 years. it's super easy. I buy from alibaba and it's usually good. The last two batches have been really weak, one from china, and one from Korea. The actual injecting is really easy and you can screw up but so can a doctor. I've given myself blurry vision, one eyelid half closed, not able to swallow, not able to pronounce p and b or keep food in my mouth. Its only for a couple weeks so it's no big deal.

No no big deal at all until you look like 😜

When I order this it normally takes 3 days for delivery.

Cause of covid, my last delivery took 10 days.

The brand I got was called "Botulax" - which seems to be reputable enough.
Dispatched from south korea (big on their skin care there).

I was concerned that cause of that length not being refrigerated, it was gonna turn bunk.

So, I got a 200 unit vial; I do my forehead/frontalis and eyebrows/glabellar - which normally takes about 50 units at a clinic.

I have stubborn lines so unloaded 100 units in 5 unit shots across those areas.

36 hours from time of injection as of now, muscles seem to be freezing up pretty good so, at least it didn't turn totally bunk (though I have read it does decrease in potency).

......

The other 100 units in the vial went immediately into my freezer, apparently that holds it for up to 4 months.

I tried keeping it in the fridge before and it was worthless after a week.

......

Hopefully a couple more days it'll totally even our my forehead lines without a trace.

It's a huge confidence boost to get rid of them and not have these brow furrows.

Other good thing is, I'm getting more confident with doing the injections - cause the first couple times it was nerve racking as hell; I almost fainted.

Now I know what to do, just mark out the spots, pinch technique and get a good bolus under the skin, squeeze down the injection site with an alcohol pad after to seal the skin tissue and prevent bleeding or the botox leaking back out (does happen).

Got it all taken care of in a bout 10 minutes, 4x 0.5 ml insulin syringes.

.....

What I've also determined is, cause of my diet etc, I don't actually think I require dermal filler.
Which is a relief cause, as safe as they're purported to be, the risk is WAAAY higher for complications than with botox.

So hopefully I'll never have to take the risk of going blind whilst self injecting dermal filler.

Dayum, 100 units in the forehead....

I may have overdone it.

I literally cannot move my forehead at all.

Absolutely zero lines - I have the forehead of an 18 year old, but it's a bizarre feeling.

Feels like the muscle are just dead, but I want to stretch them, but can't - like a heavy dose of lidocaine feels, but it won't wear off for 3 months.

So, lower dose next time I think.

Sounds like it didn't degrade as much as you thought lol

Bumping this cause I just topped up again yesterday.

I absolutely love this product - botox.

My forehead lines make me look 10 years older; 1 vial of this, self administered at a grand total of about 50 western currency units (actually ordered 2 vials to make postage more efficient, froze the other for future use), and like magic they're gone.

In a local clinic, botox for men costs 300 for 3 areas (i.e. forehead, frown lines and crows feet).

A 100 unit vial self purchased, I can easily covered all those areas adequately with some remaining.

So I do this 3 times a years (seems to wear off about 4 month point), I basically save 750 currency units, at a cost of about 150 to myself.

Super safe, super easy, super effective (though I'd stress again, although doing dermal filler oneself is super popular, that is the one I wouldn't even consider doing myself - chances are less than 1 in 1000 of back filling a blood vessel and going blind, but any chance at all is still to high for me - besides which, cause of my diet and lifestyle, I don't need it).

Botox = awesome

I doubt that someone will sell Botox to you, it is one of the strongest toxins. This is the first thing. And secondly, you need to be literally reckless to inject such a substance at home, independently and without the participation of a trained specialist. A skewed forehead is just a trifle :) My friend graduated from Botox courses drhennessyacademy.com, and anyway, she did the first commercial injections under the supervision of a professional. You also need to consider all the drugs you are taking and the special cases of allergy.

lol - wrong on so many counts, but keep on keeping on brother.

Couple reviews of DIY botox and where it was acquired:

This gal has a facebook page which is a great source of knowledge on all things DIY botox etc

Another reviewer.

I'm about to put in another order and the latter of this to youtube channels was actually reported to the FDA and has appeared on some investigative channels etc since.

Then channel seems to have been taken down now.

I'm going on the channels original recommendation for purchase source which I've been using for a couple years now.

Her trade name was "Natural Kaos".

Anyone order recently? @ckoretsky
