My name is Dean Murphy and I'm from the Department of Gender and Cultural Studies, University of Sydney. We are seeking LGBTQ participants from Australia for an online survey about expectations and experiences of drug consumption. The study design has been approved by the University of Sydney human research ethics committee.

A broad range of drugs is included in the scope of the survey—for example, illicit drugs, prescription pharmaceuticals, steroids, hormones, and antiretrovirals (as HIV treatment or PrEP). We are interested in people’s expectations and experiences of the way these substances affect sex, sexuality or gender, and also the strategies people use to maximise the desired effects and minimise any potential negative effects of the drugs they consume.

The link to the survey is: https://chemicalpractices.org/survey/

The survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

This survey will be open until 31 January 2020. It's open to anyone aged 18 years or over.
The survey covers the following areas: drug and alcohol consumption practices; specific expectations and experiences of drug consumption; well-being; use of services; and attitudes and experiences related to gender.

You can find further information at: https://chemicalpractices.org/about-the-study/

I can be contacted at [email protected] or via the Bluelight private messaging system.

Many thanks

Dean Murphy

Why only LGXYZ people? We must be the most over-researched group in the world besides indigenous people - is there no funding to help straight white people with their drug habits? They surely need it.

Thanks for your interest. The study is specifically investigating people's use of drugs and medications to enhance or transform aspects of sex, sexuality or gender, and is therefore focusing on sexual and gender minorities. However, rest assured, there are many other population-based studies on drug consumption.

Thanks for the reply and sorry for jumping unhelpfully in to your thread. Good luck with the project.

Almost everything is already catered to straight white people as has been for centuries.
