Question/Idea for Future Research

Has any research been done on using Rohypnal or a similar drug to PREVENT or minimize the development of PTSD? Much as one might chew an aspirin at the first signs of an ischemic stroke, to prevent the clot from causing permanent brain damage, I wonder what would happen if a combat soldier, for example, were administered Rohypnal IMMEDIATELY after trauma exposure to minimize the memory encoding of the trauma. As an analogue, are victims of sexual assault via rohypnal traumatized PRIOR to figuring out what happened to them? In other words, is the trauma itself encoded while under the influence of the drug? BTW, I'm a woman, so please don't consider this a twisted or politically incorrect inquiry.

Great idea for a thread and very interesting specific topic. Memory and trauma are in my cross hairs right now.
