possible to peak 9 hrs after?

hi, i'm a regular here on bluelight but hardly ever post here so i'm hoping people will help me. I've been taking pills for about two yrs now & what i experienced last night is a totally new experience for me.
Last night i went to an event in melbourne & after having a lot to drink a friend offered me probably half a crushed pill i dropped this at about 3am & went on with my night & didnt worry when i didnt feel anything thinking hey it's a half not gunna do much then i got home bout 10am this morning & at bout 11am when hanging with my housemates i started to feel fucked like small rushes & being fucked up on a pill this was 8 hours after droping so ppl my question is: is it possible to peak etc 8 hours after taking a half a pill?
all advice experience etc is welcome
