Cards Poker (Texas Hold'em)

Initial cash out procedure at Global Poker was a little drawn out, but I received all my winnings. it should be smoother and quicker from now on. Seems totally on the level though.

i live in the u.s. so playing online for cash is a problem.

i play at the local casino (i live in california close the the nevada border) and i also play a regular, wednesday night home game that's been going for over 10 years. i took it down last night for $345 :)

probably i am not :)

i got 4-outed last night in the deepstack. those always sting.

^ sure.

i played my first poker tourney in vegas on wednesday. i didn't have much time but there was a $65 buy-in tourney at my hotel (mandalay bay) at 10:00pm so i could play after dinner that night. about 15 people with 18 buy-ins (3 re-entries). i took it down :)

Nice one. How long does 18 buy ins take?

I seem to lose my poker face after about 45 minutes of play. Because of this, I do really well on virtual poker tourneys but tend to lose big tournaments in person.

it was pretty quick - about 2 and a half hours.

most tourneys i play last 4 to 5 hours. definitely need patience for the duration if i want to cash...

been a good week. 2nd in the $60 deep stack on monday night. walked with $305.

then last night was the $100 ante-free. pretty quiet - maybe 13 or 14 players. it was a grind and i was down to 4k chips with the blinds at 300/600. fought back to ~80k and ended up heads-up. i rarely get to play heads-up - it's quite common in the room in which i play for players to chop when everybody is in the money - and i can play pretty aggressively when we're down to 2.

i had about 80k, opponent about 60k. i get this in the big blind:

blinds are 4k/8k. he limps in the small blind and i shove all in. he called with K9 suited (or something like that) and we're off to the races. this was the board run out:

quad aces to win the tournament :)

i walked with $460. pretty good for 2 nights' 'work'

I played all yesterday.. took down 4, 9 or 18 player sit an goes, second in two. 7500$ rebuy is still fucking with me and I want to win it. Its pissing me off.

that's sick ali that is beyond cool

I have been to Mandalay Bay w/ my ex when he was still alive, before the horrific mass shooting. We both won $100 on slots *in the identical same moment*

made me realize the machines are likely being "won activated" remotely to get people psychologically hooked to the game as no one else around us were winning. Highly suspicious but I had fun, drank at the bar and what not and had a blast there, ate a great meal w/ my winnings.

Beatiful live wins alasdairm. :)

Always loved live poker be it either local bar, casino or with friends.

Positive online outcome so far this year. Last time I put money in won a 1.5$ buy-in tournament with over 900 players

^ 1.5$ buy-in? how much did you clear?

i've been stuck in neutral for about 2 months now:

some brutal beats. got 3-outed on monday night and a brutal 4-outer on saturday night when a 3k small-stack went all-in and i shoved about 14k all-in with AQ off to isolate. the guy in the big blind was committed for only 1k but he uttered the words i hate to hear in poker - "fuck it" - and called with his QK no idea how he makes that call but i had him absolutely dominated...

did he hit his K for the bad beat? of course not - he made a runner, runner straight and i'm gone.

Holy hell. AQ vs KQ and then losing to runners. Painfully tilting stuff. Do you remember your first thought when he hit his straight?

I think it was something like 700-800. Took everything except 50 from that and havent really played after i run out of $.

i played a world series of poker circuit event at harvey's in south lake tahoe last night. $135 buy-in. 68 players. got down to final 2 and we chopped. $1900! boom!
