Hi I will start by describing my situations and things related to it and then say what I expect from the thread;

I have horrible pain in my ribs, my physio/osteo thinks its a pulled muscle and recommended ice and a diclofenac cream. Doesnt work at all. Also I have an unusually high natural tolerance to opiates, like only 20-30mg oxycodone can make me barely feel something on no tolerance AT ALL.
I also can't get a doctor give me opiates for a pulled muscle in the ribs also I am 19 so no fucking doctors that arent private (I live in Canada) will precribe me painkillers specially when I say no to 30mg codeine because it will be as effective as tylenol i.e no effect.
As for my pain IT IS HORIBLE, everytime I breathe, everytime I stand up everytime I move any part of my body over my hips I am in 6/10 to 8/10 pain.

It's been like this for at least 14 days and its not getting better at all. It's distracting me when I try to do my distance schoolwork (at home) , its making me unable to do household chores I can't really stand it anymore.
(Also to note that I have untreated chronic pain in my left epididydimis, its untreated because they dont know why I have pain, its been there for 2 years and thats 8/10 constant pain like if a clothes pin was stuck to it.)
Add those two pain and you get some1 who is in pain when he walks when he sits when he lays down. All that without any doctors agreeing to help me.
They prefer to send me get a radio/echo and then don't call and don't see me again. I have no doc that follows me once a year, I am on a list but it's been 3 years and some say it can take up to 5 years, sometimes more. Altho, I have a psychiatrist because they thought my pain was psychosomatic, turns out its not, so now he just treats my ADD and insomnia how hilarious, sad and ironic.

The only relief I get is once every3-4 days when I use my leftover lyrica as a painkiller combined with 2mgs clonazepam I bought to my brother(was using Lyrica as a muscle relaxer/slight painkiller but when tolerance build up even at 600 I didnt feel anything after 2 weeks). But you can guess that this combo doesnt mix with schoolwork. So thats my dilemma.

This thread is about trying to get fresh ideas as to how to be able to get out of this hell (mostly ribs pain, i got kind of used to the other pain, eventho I'd be happy to see it gone). Cuz I ran out of ideas and have difficulty thinking when 30% of my body is in pain dragging my attention.

Physio, psych, GP,- ask for a referral to a pain doc.

Your GP may then take you seriously or if you ask to be urgently seen by a PM, she can get things rolling for you.

Good luck,

Rtp

This is how the healthcare system goes.. If you're under the age of 40, and not dying, you probably won't be prescribed anything to help your pain, leaving many people forced to self medicate.
A pulled muscle should heal on it's own within a month or two. Possibly try cannabis?

What is a GP? General physician? If its that, then I wont have one for the next 2-3 years because in canada the system makes you wait 4-6 years before giving you access to one. So I am stuck with a private physio and public psychiatrist, both cant refer me to anything as they are both specialists. Thats my problem actually.

I am 19 with no job and can't smoke because of problem in my throat muscles or nerves no Physicians can understand what is going on in there exactly like my epididymis, Here if they dont understand what you have they stop seeing you.

I do eat cannabis every 4-5 days but I can't afford more. In fact I am ruining my savings (which are low) by this because of a fucking pain in my ribs.

Altho mabe I can ask my psychiatris to refer me to a pain clinic, I we have some here in MTL .

It's such a pain in the ass getting rxed opiates if ur young and in the public health care system that it's not even worth the trouble.

I wouldn't try to get on opioids until its been established that this pain will be long term or permanent (the pain of withdrawing from opioids and always being sick isn't worth it unless you've been in pain for a LONG time)...14 days is nothing and no doctor will give you an opioid for that short of time being in pain, especially since you don't have some kind of obvious trauma showing up on an MRI, and your age.

what about kratom? you could also try getting on methadon or suboxone since you can just lie and say you are an addict...they will help your pain a lot, but will also put an ugly label on you preventing you possibly from getting opioids when you are older and docs will actually give them to you.

Well I've been thinking of seeing a pain doc for my left epididymis which is constantly feeling like a cloth pin is attached to it which is awful, Also now its been 3 weeks and still having pain in my left ribs all the way to my spine, I dont think its muscle related, I think I pinched a nerve and that hurts alot more than muscle pain. I also have full body pain from REALLY tense muscles, my physio said he never saw something like that at my age, and I am on 2mg clonazepam/day (unprescribed, I bought them from my brother who had more than he needed, he has 6mg/day prescribed. I feel really angry that he has private and I am stuck with public.

So globally I have a epididymis pain 7/10 and somethimes 9/10 when I make bad moves since July 3 years ago untreated for 3 years, I have chronic muscle pain since the moment I had the ability to form a memory and now I have ribs/back pain. I think it is time to see a pain doc... That makes alot of pain to endure sober now that I stopped cannabis daily because I have too much muscle tension in my neck that it hurts alot when I vaporize cannabis, I eat it now once every week but its not a cure its a break.

As for kratom I do not care for it very much I am prone to nausea and kratom is the opiate that has more chances of creating it and more intense. I like lyrica but 600mg everyday isnt even enought to make me feel anything after a month, my body adapted to it completely, when I stopped I stopped cold turkey and had no WD at all, then I kept my 2 months dose for partial pain relieve once every week or so. I am left with 5 days a week with constant chronic pain and none of my relieves are prescribed or even legal.

It is strange but LSD is what helped me the most, making me able to endure pain in a more peaceful way, but it is accumulating and I can't take it anymore. I see my psychiatrist (they thought it was psychosomatic so specialized adolecent doc sent me to psychiratry, but the psych doesnt believe I have psychosomatic pain nor anxiety, its like they both do not know the reason for all my kinds of pain) in 7 days and I'll ask to see a pain doc and ask him to prescribe me 4mg lorazepam daily or Baclofen, at least I will have relieve from my muscle tensions. I also see a urologist like in 2 weeks but IDK if they are prescribing pain meds for a long term pain in the BALLS! IDK why I am telling all this but it kinda feels good to complain sometimes... sorry for that !

Oh and also I have an MRI of my brain and a spine Xray in 9 days so they will see what happens in there at least... I hope something will show them why I am in pain so they can treat it without pain meds as I don't like the idea of using them daily.

I feel for you man. The whole right side of my rib cage has been burning and stabbing with pain since December 2013. The pain originates next to my spine across from my shoulder blade and wraps around my ribs and terminates at the insertion points of my ribs and sternum. If the pain isn't actually wrapping around I'll just have the pain next to my spine and the pain in my chest at those insertion points to my sternum so like I've got a spear through my back and out the front.

I've been dependent and addicted to opioids since I could no longer put up with it around mid 2014. I was convinced my first CT and or MRI would clearly show the pinched nerve I was convinced I had but no such luck. Countless nerve blocks and dollars seeing expensive specialists - money wise the drugs are by far the cheapest, even if one was on welfare in Australia the price is astoundingly cheap. Like $7.00 for 3 boxes of 80mg oxycodone OG formula pills. The price is the same if you get 3 boxes of 10mg pills......it's about double to triple that price if you aren't on welfare so still very affordable......the cost to your life urgh......i won't and don't need to go into that.
