Hey all, I was just looking through some articles on Wiki trying to find an interesting compound or two, and I stumbled upon these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Org_12,962 and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quipazine. It appears there are some related compounds present in peyote, but as of now I can't find much info about them. Obviously, the structure is very interesting in how much it resembles the tryptamine class of compounds, and high 5-HT2 affinity would seem to suggest that it resembles the tryptamines in function as well. Has there been much research into quinolines?

These compounds remind me of the piperazines; not a generally very well-respected class of drugs.

That crossed my mind as well, but the differences in chemical structure might be important enough to stave off the more negative effects associated with piperazines (more selective?). I think it definitely might warrant some investigation.

I don't know much about quinolines but Sasha wrote a book on isoquinolines

Right, I've browsed some of the structures there. The main difference between isoquinoline and quinoline is that double bond at the nitrogen on the pyridine ring. Kind of reminds you of indole, right? And as far as I can tell, those isoquinolines all resemble phenethylamines more closely than tryptamines.
