Hello, some guy I know is trying to get hydrocodone prescribed to him by his doctor. He has been preparing for over a year now with other visits. There are at least a years worth of visits to this same practicioner. The patient has been prescibed three controlled substances already and has continued to recieve them. For the last 5 or so visits the patient has complained of chronic neck pain and was prescribed Soma for it.

So the patient has several visits worth of complaints of the same neck pain.
- Has been prescribed and had no issue with other controlled subtances.
- Has been complaining on several occasions of neck pain.
- Has a 1yr+ relationship with doctor.

How does the patient seal the deal and move up to an opioid.
How does the patient get prescribed while avoiding expensive tests (such as an MRI).

The patient is thinking of saying "The pain has become too much of a burden, the Soma does not relieve the pain at all, I am afraid of organ damage if I continue over the counter analgesics in high quantities. What are my options to relieve the pain)

Any thoughts?

they are going to want some film as proof. You aren't going to get those meds based on your word.
