THIS SATURDAY, Oct 6, OpenAir returns to The DL Rooftop with Deepling (Viva La House) from Hamburg, Germany and a fantastic lineup of NYC talent joining me in the booth including Derek Marin, Frank Olivo, Aly, Lara Berman & Sheleg. OpenAir is a new day-into-night party in the Lower East Side that gets down with deep, forward house & techno on the sexy, hypnotic tip.
OpenAir runs from 3pm to 10:30pm on The DL's spacious covered rooftop that features a glass retractable roof, a large terrace, ➤ a brand new food menu including appetizers, entrees and desserts + happy-hour pricing on cocktails until 10pm just for us.

• Deepling
There’s been a secret hiding in Hamburg, Germany since the 90’s...his name is Deepling. Also known as Jan-Ulrik Mühe. Better known as one of the hottest undiscovered talents responsible for groundbreaking the underground Deep House scene in North Germany. Starting his career in 2002 with infamous trio called Deeparture originated with himself, Florian and Johnjon (of Chopstick & Johnjon) then reformed as a duo with Florian until 2009. Currently, Deepling has been humbly in the background crafting an EP (w/Pazul) full of deep, atmospheric, groovy beats; transforming German techno headbangers into sexy, soulful, deep booms in the undergrounds. He is a solid standing in-demand headlining DJ on some of Hamburg’s biggest sound systems like: Hamburg City Beach City (HCBC), Hoch3, Bar Rossi, Baalsaal or Bar Morphine. Deepling’s hidden discography archive includes remixes for heavy-hitters such as Jakatta, Röyksopp and The Timewriter. He has an EP currently production with Pazul set to be released fall of 2012. Deepling is making his debut appearance in the U.S. at OpenAir.
• Derek Marin
A drummer turned techno producer Derek Marin has been playing with beats since he was 9. He has performed & collaborated with some of the biggest artists in the electronic music world like Andrew Fletcher of Depeche Mode, Mr. C, Alexi Delano, Carl Craig & Adultnapper just for starters. Derek's list of works is reaching an uncountable number, releasing productions & remixes on some of the most respected & legendary labels around the globe including: Plastic City, Dirtybird, Swag, Fade, Thoughtless Music, ATOC, Get Physical, Sleaze, Big Chief, Matterform, Hidden, Subtrak, Dialtone, Intrinsic Design & Biatch Corp. Marin also produces under the monikers Sideview, Platonik, Modest D & many others. In 2004, he established his own imprint, Faucet Music & is now heading the New York via Detroit label Subtrak. Keep a sharp eye out for Derek Marin because he is a true secret weapon of the underground and he never sleeps...

Originally from Dominican Republic and surrounded by music since childhood, this "one to watch" drummer/DJ draws upon the many of his upbringing influences to craft sets that consist of eclectic sound shapes, bassline-driven techno and funked-up house tunes spanning across all corners of deep, organic and sexy rhythms, often pushing the boundaries of genres while challenging his audience on the dance floor.
• Sheleg
Sheleg was born & raised in Minsk, formerly part of the USSR and now resides in NYC. He has been playing specifically electronic music for over 10 years and now is in deep stage of producing his own line of sound. His active collaborations with artists such as Tony Rohr(clink,drumcode), Jason Jollins(Ministry of Sound,Pacha,Acute), Eddie Krilov(Alka_Rex),Kazu Okura(Vinyl Market), Vincenzo Syracusa of the Playerz(London) and other musicians as well as label residency on Spacenautic and participation in the “Kontrol Room” events that’s been started by other great DJs and producers from NYC called Duckhunter and no less amazing Viktor K is greatly anticipated by dance music events in and outside of the United States.
