Marracos's barrister, Peter Givorshner, demanded more detailed tests of the chemicals, which he said would establish his client's innocence. He said police "did not have positive proof" that the chemical detected was LSD because it fell within a common group of drugs "found in a wide variety of pharmaceutical drugs, including migraine tablets".

Huh? don't know how that would help all that much in the long run. Migraine tablets = ergotamine, well associated with LSD manufacture....

Sydney man jailed over LSD enterprise plans

A Sydney man who was part of an international enterprise to manufacture the drug LSD in Australia has been jailed for up to five-and-a-half years.

Twenty-nine-year-old Frank Marracos will spend at least three years behind bars after pleading guilty to four weapons and drugs charges.

In his possession he had equipment and instructions to manufacture the drug, as well as a loaded semi-automatic pistol and a baton.

The judge said Marracos was motivated by greed.

A co-offender, Spanish national Eduardo de Lucas, was jailed for 15 months earlier this year.

Not really. It has certainly been done before.

It appears that the people in this case were not charged with manufacture. It may be that they were simply laying sheets using liquid brought into Australia (perhaps by the Spaniard).

LSD is definitely synthed in Australia.
Not the best stuff, but I think a lot of the stuff you will find is made here.

We're going back to an argument of a few years ago when no one believed MDMA was made in Australia. Although LSD is really eays to import, think about it. It will never be found unless the feds already know about it.
