Police raid drug lab

POLICE raided a secret drug lab at a remote home on the state's far north coast after a tip-off from the property's owner.

Police were called to an address in Kirbys Road at Limpinwood, about 40km north-west of Murwillumbah on Thursday, after the owner arrived to find chemicals and equipment used in the manufacture of amphetamines.
The owner had recently rented out the property and had not visited the home in several weeks, NSW Police said.

Specialists from the NSW Police Chemical Operations Unit removed containers of acetone and hydrochloric acid from the house along with other as yet unidentified bottles of liquid.

A 31-year-old man is assisting police with their inquiries.

If it was an MD lab I guess it'd be bigger news, but I think amphetamine labs are just so common these stories go flicking by almost unnoticed!

One would hope though, that it would take more than a few unlabeled bottles, some pool acid and paint-cleaner to land someone with a manufacturing charge 8(

Perhaps more details will emerge, but apart from the normally obvious association of glassware, the above details alone hardly constitute manufacturing or even intent IMO.
