NEWS: Albert Hofmann, the Father of LSD, Dies at 102

I guess he must have been a very happy/healthy and content person to live so long.

Possibly at least in part due to the relationship with his wife. Albert died ~5 months after her death. I think that if I lost my life partner after all those years, the will to live on would be difficult to find.
