Drug driver pleads guilty for third time

TRAVIS Crisp has become Queensland's worst drug driver, racking up three convictions since laws were introduced 15 months ago.

Crisp was convicted in a Brisbane court for the third time for driving while high on amphetamines.

The unemployed 21-year-old from Alexandra Hills, in Brisbane's east, pleaded guilty to seven charges, including possessing dangerous drugs and drug-driving, in Cleveland Magistrates Court last Monday. He was fined $100, put on probation with mandatory drug and psychological counselling, and disqualified from driving for six months.

Police confirmed Crisp had tested positive to amphetamines at roadside drug tests in Brisbane three times between February and October last year.

Chief Superintendent Mike Hannigan of the State Traffic Support Branch said Crisp had the highest number of convictions for drug-driving in the state. He said one in 49 drivers was testing positive to illicit drugs at roadside tests around the state.

Supt Hannigan said 283 drivers had tested positive to illicit drugs of the 14,025 roadside tests since December 2007 when new laws were introduced.

Crisp did not return calls from The Sunday Mail.

what a TOOL.

sounds like the kind of moron who got nabbed by cops stopping traffic in the same spot, all 3 times...
seriously though. you'd learn wouldn't you? and a $100 fine...? big whoop, he loses enough pennies to equal half a gram out of the ordeal. seems to ignore the danger of the circumstances if you ask me.
