Man, 32, faces drug, death-drive charges

POLICE have charged a Lynwood man over the "wrongway driving'' Kwinana Freeway death of a woman in July last year.
Major Crash Investigation Section charged Lee David Toplass, 32, with dangerous driving causing the death of Mckenzie MCGuigan, 37, and driving under the influence of drugs.
The crash occurred at the southern end of the freeway at Mandogalup around 10.30pm on Tuesday July 29, 2008.
Police will be allege Toplass was driving a Proton Coupe north on Kwinana Freeway against the flow of traffic in the south bound lanes, resulting in a head on crash with a Hyundai Excel near the Anketell Road exit.
Ms Mcguigan died at the scene and her 18-year-old son, a passenger in the vehicle, suffered abdominal injuries.
Toplass is also charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm to the 18-year-old man.
He will appear in Armadale Magistrates Court on Friday 24 July 2009.
