Sports

Well there are no sporting activities, other than your own fancy badmitton set up or Caber Toss match however we do have the ever prestigous

BEST CAMPSITE AWARD 2005

Campsites have been a major feature of our gigs over the years (eg. the crew who relocated their entire loungeroom into a hire truck). This year we will be having a few roving camera people come around to record the most outstanding efforts. These will then be shown on the big screens in the Circus tent on Saturday evening at 8 pm , and the winners announced. Prizes include the genuine fools gold BEST CAMPSITE TROPHY, stacks of cd's courtesy of psytrax.com and free tickets to Earthcore in the Park to be held March 2006.

Workshops

Ever tried stiltwalking? Want to make stencils with spray paint?
All Saturday afternoon from 12-6 Earthcore's workshops will let you stretch out (yoga),chill out (dream catchers) and drum out (African djembe and dance).Bringalong any instruments for the jam at the end of the day. Best of all they are all free! Make your own costume for the night to impress that special someone (or make them realise what a goose you are) plus more. Plenty of activities to stretch your mind body and soul before you hand it over to the devil. Check at the information booth for workshops on offer and times....

The Starwagon by TAC

As part of the ongoing commitment to creating safe environments for attendees, we are pleased to be working with the TAC (transport accident commission) for another year. Over the past 3 years Earthcore has been working closely with the TAC to promote safe driving through the message 'Your mate's life is in your hands'. Frankly, too many people aged under 25 aren't surviving their first years of driving.

To keep this message close to your consciousness the TAC will host 'Starwagon' throughout the Carnival this year . . . the Earthcore 'Starwagon' experience comes complete with couches, plasma TVs, free coffees and free water...... drop by and chill out. Check map for location.

So remember, look after your mates out on the road . . . stop before you jump into the car and make sure you are fully rested before you drive home. And look out for each other by ensuring your driver is right to drive.

ps. information about the new drugs and driving laws will be included in your free Earthcore showbag.

Posted: Fri Sep 23, 2005 5:33 pm Post subject: VJ's @ Earthcore

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vj's

VJ's: from every corner of the globe and our own backyard this years lineup
of VJ's includes previous earthcore heroes with their new material as well
as plenty of new blood...

Cindy Lee - Melbourne
In 2003/2004 video artist Cindy Lee worked with breaks DJ FreQ Nasty,
producing and VJing his live A/V show 'The Video Nasty Experience' which
toured the UK and European clubs and festivals throughout 2004. She also
made video for live performance in residencies in Berlin and Brussels, and
when in Melbourne she VJs as Mike TeeVee with James Verdon.

OKOT - Qld
Is Tobias de Maine who has VJed in Qld and NSW for the last 4 years, toured
Europe and regularly appears at major touring festivals in Australia. Tobias
writes all his own video software including multiscreen and installation
controllers.

Liquid Crystal Vision - EU
Omananda showcases visuals of his own and other european artists such as
Arcane, Tantric Demon, Dr. Spook, and many others. Direct from Boom,
Solstice, Burning Man, and more.

Shmooze - Melbourne
chaos visuals in the classic cut up style. Multiple cuts multiple layers,
more than your already impaired attention deficit disorder short term memory
loss weakass excuse for a brain can handle. Also running the cinema with
multiple mockumentary feature presentations of mindnumbing irrelevance to
your life.

Devoloid Media -
Main floor favourites and stalwarts of many of our events. Slick and
perfectly crafted.

Daniel Rigos - Melbourne
Abstract visual projection based on multiple layers of his own artwork.

Gavin Pert - Melbourne
Creator of multi-sensor video imaging installations. We couldn't bring the
mind blowing technology of Gavin's complete installation to the event but we
can show you the results of his evil experiments. Be afraid be very afraid.

Rezidue - Sydney
Slaves to the rhythmn.....

Team Optrix (New Zealand)
Ben Skewes (NZ) and dadfhgaligh(Japan). Fresh back from Tokyo`s Vision
Quest 2004, Team Optrix are set to transform the big screen into a
psychedelic masterpiece. Their visual synthesizer guarentees beat
syncronised colour and quality. "We maintain a high-tech approach,
pushing as much vibrance as the projectors will tolerate. Combining
optical vibrance with true colour equals full-on hallucinations," Ben
Skewes, Team Optrix founder.

Safety + General Information

1. A reminder about alcohol at the festival. There is no BYO - save us the hassle of confiscating it and drinking it ourselves. Bar prices are reasonable - $4 local beers, $6 imported beer and spirits.

2. Club 333 vip tickets - Please inform staff at the front gate that you hold a club 333 ticket to ensure you receive a access all areas lanyard and wrist band.

3. Smugglers and the smuggled. Don't bother - wristbands will be introduced this year that are required to be worn throughout the event. No wristband no gig - you will be launched direct out of the festival via our giant cannon to places unknown and will be refused re - entry.

4. A few people have suggested at least some chillout music. As we are now getting old and weary our 'go Hard or go home' policy has been slightly modified with a option. Market area now has a new sound system with plenty of shade and relaxing tunes.

5. Gates open 12 noon Friday 25 November Victoria. Gates open 2 pm Friday 2 December Queensland.

6. No pass outs

Safety Information
The usual rules apply and they are mostly common sense, designed to help you and your mates have a great time, and live to tell the tale. Ignore them at your own peril, as stupid behaviour gets its just desserts.
No Pets
No BYO - save us the hassle of confiscating and drinking it ourselves. Confiscated alcohol will not be returned. There is a shire wide ban on drinking in public places for the entire weekend. You can be fined $200 for drinking alcohol outside of the licensed area.
No No Fires - we had 1 fire last year, thanks to 1 idiot.. This includes fireworks, firesticks etc etc. Don't put yourselves and others in danger.
No Illicit Substances.
No camping between the levee bank and the river.
No jumping or diving into the river - submerged logs and other hazards are lurking just beneath the surface.
No swimming outside the lifesaver's flags and absolutely no swimming at night.

We also advise:
Don't camp under overhanging branches
Bag your own rubbish and drop it in the nearest bin. Messy camps do not attract quality lays. Remind your neighbours if necessary.
Butts in the bin or in your portable ashtray.
Driving like you want to arrive home - a designated driver, rest stops and associated good driving practice will ensure that you do. Have a break before driving home.
Look after your mates - and any one else obviously not having a good time. First Aid and Ravesafe are there for your benefit. Do not hesitate to visit them if you need to.
Big and Hairy Security in the area will not tolerate inappropriate behaviour or fluro leg warmers. Both are unfashionable and will not win you any friends.
Everyone is here to enjoy themselves, and a bit of respect goes a long way.

Eftpos terminal will be on site at the information booth

ive done events sober before. you dont have to do drugs just to go to things like this :)

^ Yeah, that's why I mentioned a day trip.

It's not the fact that 3 days is too long to resist drugs while around ppl on them - it's the fact that putting up with people on drugs for 3 days will drive me to insanity, if I'm sober... ;)

Or maybe that's just heroic bullshit and I would fail to resist purely out of weakness.

I have my ticket... and I'm starting to get a little excited about this... wont be long before it's here =D

I've done many festivals like this straight.

You really do get high just being there and feeding of everyone elses energy, and it's just a great experience being in the bush with wikid people and tunes for 3 days. I have heaps of fun interacting with everyone when i'm straight... and you find most people are great to be around.

i highly reccomend it :);)

Couldn't agree more. From experience too. Doing it straight also has the benefit of not being completely munted by the third day.

And I already have my ticket %) %) %)

Earthcore is not a rave, its a festival.
People look out of place in phat pants :)
There are so many different people there, of all ages.
Its just a great experience.

You should be able to enjoy this festival straight as many others do, or there is something seriously wrong with you :)

Big Ups

I'm there.

Got my free 333 ticket in the mail today.

How could I *not* go? ;)

(Spiz is God)

Ah so you're one of THOSE people... Idont care if the ticket was free. You're still one os THOSE people, I'm not one of said people. I shall be attening with my $130 ticket....

Who's up for drinks on Friday night?

Edit : You better be Kat, I plan to get in at least four or five hours of quality oggling time.

One of *THOSE* people?

You mean lucky bastards?

If so, yes.

If you mean that in a derogatory way then to quote a great man:

"Eat my shorts young man."
