Are you a Veteran? Have you served in the U.S. Military and Have Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)?

We are seeking men and women, at least 18 years old, diagnosed with PTSD from experiences that occurred while serving in the military. You must be in good physical health, with blood pressure that is normal or kept normal by taking medication. We are seeking people who still have symptoms despite treatment with psychotherapy or medication.

We're conducting a research study of an investigational drug used in combination with psychotherapy. The study takes place in Charleston, South Carolina. For participants from out of town, all travel expenses, food and lodging will be paid for.

For more information, please call (843) 849-6899 or see www.maps.org

Im guessing this is specific to veterans? I have ptsd..but its not from war.

Their page on this study.

It does indicate they are looking for US Veterans with PTSD. It does not specify that the PTSD is from war operations (though I suspect that may be the expected factor), but it does request that the participants be Veterans from the US Military. For further info, you can contact them in the information provided in the first post.

Thanks JG, this is a team to which we have to give all the support we can. The studies they are getting approval for and the data they're bringing represents a huge milestone. The day that phase III trial gets published is going to be glorious.

Never has such an effective, off-patent, inexpensive adjunct to psychotherapy for a serious illness been on such a good track to fruition. :)

Fantastic study - so good to see this research happening!

We are trying to get something going in Australia too, see http://prism.org.au/ - but still seeking an amenable psychiatrist!
