Set and setting can be very important as well. If I'm with a few good friends and we're all tripping and laughing and having fun then it's less 'intense' and more a great time. If I solo trip, which I love to do, things can get really strange.
I like to put a lot of effort into planning a trip. The right audio and visual stimulation can take the experience to new levels. I suggest you all try some of these places.
1. Sydney Aquarium.
2. The Mountains at night. The brilliant stars make for an amazing night.
3. Fagan Park or Parramatta park on a Saturday. A lot of people go to these places for wedding photos. Few things make for a more hysterical experience than ridding a bike through someones wedding photos high on sid, while wearing a tin foil helmet.
4. Nimbin. There are a few places you can stay just out of town that have cabins in the middle of the rain forest.
Another cool thing is to hire a projector and project images onto a wall, or the roof. Think Salvador Dali and Luis Bunuel's Un Chien Andalou, DR Strangelove, Dead Man etc etc.
Hope I have given you a few idea's to try. Happy tripping.
