As many of you may or may not know, Loperamide HCL (brand name: Immodium), is a drug used to promote constipation for anti-diarrhea purposes. It's the only OTC (over-the-counter) opioid available in the United States. Loperamide acts on the u-opioid receptors in the large intestines, but does NOT cross the BBB (blood-brain-barrier) and thus does NOT affect the CNS (central nervous system). So in an abstract, yes it's an OTC (over-the-counter) opioid, but NO you cannot get high from it.

[Large amount of information on how to get "high" off of loperamide by abusing it.]
