Anybody watching this weird and wonderful show?

Michel Gondry is best known for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

The second season is better than the first. Like most of Gondry's work, it blurs the line between reality and fiction. It is bizarre and experimental. There is cut-out animation mixed with real footage. They use projectors and puppets. It is crammed full of subtext and symbolism. Carrey is wonderful. Frank Langella is great. Catherine Keener is perfect as usual. As the show progresses it swallows itself and becomes some sort of freakshow fever dream.

If you don't like arthouse insanity, it might frustrate you.

I think it's beautiful.

There will be no third season. There are only 20 episodes. This makes me both sad and happy. I don't want to see Mr. Pickles become diluted in the name of capitalism.
