For about 2 months they had dogs at sutherland station every 2nd friday night, luckily however because i shat my pants it must have overcome the smell of whatever else was on me

Wrong election dude, policing is a STATE, not federal issue!!!

So if this had any correlation to 'election timing' it would be very weird , considering we've just had our NSW state elections earlier in the year...

correct state governement run policing, but as is usually the case during a major event (ie election) over the past 8 years (just befre an election) there has been some increase in "visible" policing (must make everyone feel safer).

also like the fact that around christmass there will be a story in the papers about a new batch of ecstasy that will cause permanent damage if you take it.

or am i just to cynical??

They're supposed to be in use in Melbourne, but I haven't seen any, nor have I heard of any incidents. Has anyone from Melbs seen them?
