Jordan Peterson's year of 'absolute hell': Professor forced to retreat from public life because of addiction

He's frequently active on Twitter. Isn't about his followers, it's about how he changed the root of psychology. I couldn't watch any other psychologist aside him, he has very unique view points. Those new materials from him aren't new, so we can see that he's still in recovery. We gonna see him next year, I hope.

He has talked about the extreme depression he has had in the past and all sorts of other emotional qualms in his life so he is by no means perfect and never claimed to be. You don't need to be perfect to give advice and you certainly don't need to be to help people which is what he has been trying to do. I think some of the things he says could be especially useful for many people on these forums using drugs to cope etc. self responsibility is a huge part of overcoming addiction and I would say some of jbp's advice was useful in my own experience of stopping opiate/cocaine.

In my opinion the only reason people dislike him is because these days everyone is either wearing their blue or red politically tinted glasses and cant manage to separate an opinion from its "political category". Not to mention how the media twists his words and opinions to make him out as badly as they can manage. He has studied marxism/socialism/postmodernism and sees how these same ideas are influencing everyday society now, and how these ideas manifested in the past, that is his only purely political commentary.

90% of his commentary on youtube is philosophical it is just the political stuff that became popular, no need to hate each other (him) because we differ in opinion. We all get to have a vote, so we shouldn't need to put anyone down or call anyone names if we can fight with our opinions
