friends left arm is red and very itchy with bumpy spots/areas immediately after injecting IV substance into wrist vein, or what appeared to be a vein. When registering or verifying that was in the vein, the blood that pulled into the syringe was dark, it did have a little air bubble in it and was not totally like what used to seeing from a vein, but it also was not exactly what used to seeing from an artery either....

dark blood, low amount of air bubbles (but present), medium speed, gushed in (when u it hit, it rushes in the chamber, u know....) not so fast that it pushed plunger out, not light or bright red, not super frothy, not pulsing like pumping out to the beat of heart. so i dont know.... mind u, it did sting a little though.....not ALOT like an artery should (right?), but a little sting, just chalked that up to it being in the wrist area, which usually comes with a little sting.

bumps look like allergic reaction maybe....but other arm, same vein/general area, did not have this reactin at all.

plz help. worried. thanks.

are you sure about what the substance was, did it happen again in a different spot after shooting?
