Alcohol Itching due to Alcohol Withdrawal - Mechanism Unknown

He also has a plethora of mucous and pukes it up during wd.

I thought alcohol would dehydrate you - shouldn’t he be dry throated, not tons of mucous?

Yes it seems counterintuitive, but the mucous is a result of the esophageal lining trying to protect itself, especially if he drinks a lot of hard liquor. If he doesn't really eat, he could also be puking up bile which could be mistaken for mucous.
