Misc Issues with Vivitrol

I have a friend who had one vivitrol shot after having an issue with pain meds. She did not like the shot because it gave her back pain and a big lump on her back. It is now 64 days after the shot and she got her hands on some pills and they didn't work! I read threads about Vivitrol lasting for maybe 45 days on the outset. What can she do??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
