Tapentadol is a relatively new semi-synthetic opioid, somewhat similar to Tramadol. Both have dual modeS of action as an agonist of the μ-opioid receptor as well as the ability to inhibit the reuptake of specific neurotransmitters. Whilst Tramadol's reuptake inhibition of Serotonin is relatively strong when compared to it's reuptake inhibition of Norepinephrine/Noradrenaline,1 conversely, Tapentadol's reuptake inhibition of Norepinephrine/Noradrenaline is relatively strong when compared to it's reuptake inhibition of Serotonin.23
When orally ingested, Tapentadol's analgesic properties come into effect within thirty-two minutes of,[3] with an approximate half life of 4h,4 when compared to Tramadol's 6.5h half life.56.
As for it's bioavailability, this is more contentious, with some sources suggesting 32%7-34%8 when orally ingested.
The Tapentadol I have are 100mg XR/SR/ER tablets with a duration of action lasting from 8-12h.9. As for equipotency, this puts it in line with approximately:
Oral Morphine: 40mg10, 40mg11, 37mg12
Oral Oxycodone 20mg 10, 26.5mg,11 25mg12
I really like the effects of both Tramadol and Tapentadol as I find them to be very stimulating and buzzy for an opiate. I've never snorted Tramadol but was wondering whether anybody has snorted Tapentadol. Or if they haven't, what would they expect the effects to be from the information provided? Or has anybody insufflated Tramadol?
Not such a fan of snorting much, but as I said, I really enjoy both opiates. I've got loads so am not worried about wasting any.
