It is strange that smoking the dope got you high but shooting got you nowhere..i know from personal experience that smoking dope is an effective way to do it, it certainly beats snorting it. But injecting is the most potent roa. No other roa is greater than injecting, in terms of intensity.

I think you not getting high from shootin has to do with your tolerance. I think it mustve been lower when you smokd the shit, and too high when you took a shot.

Its weird. I even shot dope once after I got out of rehab, so I was 70 days clean and had no tolerance, and I didn't feel any euphoria. It was definitely dope, or some opiate, because everything else happened. Got itchy, couldn't piss, got nauseous, but more than anything I just kinda felt nothingness. It was better than being sober, and my body felt good, but I didn't get that mental kick that even a few vicodin gave me the following day.

And when I refer to smoking and shooting the h, it was all during the same week so my tolerance was unchanged. I'd wake up and smoke some h, feel good, then that very night when I was sobered up I'd shoot myself up, and feel something, but no rush or intense euphoria.

Shot myself up with demerol and felt a bit better than h, but still no wonderful euphoria. Thank god I guess, as I'm sure I woulda become a slave to the needle faster than you can say 'amy winehouse'.

Ive always wondered, if I had some Naloxone (or whatever its called.... the stuff parameds give you when ur ODing to induce withdrawal), and you did some right before you shot up some dope, wold you get a serious rush/high? Like would it be the same as going throgh withdrawal and then shooting up? If so, I would love to get my hands on some of that naloxone (or whatever). Cause I'm in th same boat as the original poster, I can't seem to get any real rush at all from shooting up. Likely because I've been doing a lot lately. Its a real bummer. And also, I know for a fact that they have either Naloxone or Naltrexone in suboxone. Its so you cannot get high from injecting suboxone. Both Naltrexone and Naloxone are not absorbed through to the body unless you inject them. So if you take the subs properly and place them under your toungue, the antagonists just pass through your body.

when you are on Sub, you constantly have something plugged in, acting on, or inhibting your receptors.

Sub has one helluva half-life and affinity, so when you are on Sub Maintenance your receptors are Perma-Occupied.

When you slam the heroin, the rush comes from the heroin clicking into your opiate receptors in 0 seconds flat.
Again, when you are on Suboxone maintenance, the receptors are occupied, so this rush doesn't happen at all. The heroin gets to your receptor and says "let me occupy you", but then the suboxone shows up and says "Fuck off wimp, this receptor is my bitch", and then the heroin decides to go elsewhere.

Ideally, to get most from your shooting dope when on sub maintenance, you stop taking the sub, and wait until you are in full-blown withdrawal (withdrawal is your opiate receptors starting to feel a bit lonely). Because only then, can the heroin occupy your receptors. Suboxone has a much higher affinity for your receptor, so if both heroin and sub are present, the sub wins.

I am not sure about heroins affinity for other receptors such as δ1, δ2, κ1, κ2, κ3, μ1, μ2, μ3 and ORL1, but Buprenorphines high affinity and partial antagonist action on Mu opiate receptors blocks euphoric effects from other full agonist such as heroin. I am almost certain the heroin still exhibits full agonist action on delta and kappa receptors. So while you don't get the good euphoric effects from the heroin as you would without the Sub, you still get other effects such as sedation, constipation, and dysphoria.

Heroin only kills 2,000 people in the US, and people with a heroin tolerance typically never OD from heroin by itself.

It sounds like some of you guys that just "Aren't getting the rush" may just be getting some shitty dope. Low quality will get you high and keep you well, but won't give the desired euphoria when 1st shot. Try a different source...

From my own Suboxone maintenance, things seem to work like this for me...

If I wake up at 9am and take 4mgs or less of my sub...I can do a shot at 9pm that night and the dope will overtake the bupe and I will get a rush and be high. I won't be nodding out, because some of the receptors are still occupied, but I get that kick everyone wants and I feel good for a few hours. I do notice that the dope wears off quicker...
If I wake up and take 8mgs of Sub all at once in the morning...I can't get high again for at least 24-36 Hours. When you take the dose all at once, it occupies the receptors MUCH more efficiently than taking a broken up dose of 4mg + 4mg.
When I wake up and take 16mgs of Sub...I can't get high for at LEAST 48 hours. And, if you take 8-16mgs or more daily for multiple days and weeks...you have to wait even longer to get high...sometimes even 7 days of abstinence before you can get a rush again. The bupe builds up, and the more you take, the longer it lasts, and the more it sticks and stays on those receptors. That's why doctors start addicts at such a high dose. I am prescribed 20mgs daily. If I took my full dose EVERYDAY for a week...It would take me AT LEAST a whole week of almost NO Subs to be able to get high again. Since I figured this out...I ALWAYS break up my dose so that I can get high within 12 hours of taking subs. I take 1-2mgs at a time usually, at the most 4mgs, first thing in the morning. If I know I'm not going to be getting high...I take another dose around 6 or 7pm that night. I NEVER need more than 8mgs, and never take more than 8 mgs. Bupe will keep you well, even at really low doses, especially if you have taken it for any extended period of time due to the buildup effect.
That's just my experience though, and I have a pretty quick metabolism so results may vary. I hope everyone gets that RUSH you're looking for, because when you don't get it...It's really fucking depressing...

I don't get the rush anymore like you were saying, and that's what I chase more than anything and before I know it I've gone through the brick that was supposed to last me all day in three consecutive shots. I'm an escort and make a minimum of 500$ a day and it seems like no matter how much I make my body just won't let me freakin nod or anything anymore. I'm on the verge of just quitting unless I stumble upon some majorly potent stuff, but at this rate I'm spending 5000$+ a week to not be sick. And I try all different stamps and nothing gets me going anymore. If I can't get high off 500 a day I don't think I could make it through a detox that intense. This is new to me cause I have been struggling and broke for the first five years of my addiction.

^The point you've reached with IV heroin is not something the majority of users ever experience, but it's inevitable if you have unlimited money and supply and keep increasing your use.

I got there after shooting more and more over the course of 4 years. I still got high, but only once in a while, if I did a lot and it was really good. Sometimes, there's a lot of mediocre shit around, and if you do that for a few weeks, you'll end up getting high again for a week or so, when you start getting really strong dope again..but then you'll adjust to that and go back to being barely high..

If you do enough, you'll always feel something...but if you're constantly saturated with IV heroin, you'll stop getting really high all the time..it sucks!

My friend kept going and has been shooting every day for 6 years...he's up around 4-500 a day, and only gets high doing even more than that on weekends!

That's a bad place to be...

Yeah I've been in positions like that with a monster habit.. I made the mistake of going to detox without tapering down at all, not even a little at least, and it was the most brutal kick of my life.

You need to ween down as much as you can.. try to cut your use in half, then go to detox. Or get on methadone or something.. because that kind of using is not sustainable. Trust me I know.

Interesting. I have been smoking H for about 3-4 years with some breaks. But i started injecting about 6 months ago. And out of lets say 100 times i had rush(euphoria) after injecting only once. The guys around here have convinced me that shooting more than 2 bags at 1 time is dangerous and will most likely kill me. So scared i have been always injecting 2 bags at 1 time.. And 9 out of 10 times didnt feel anything. Very disappointed. I had no idea you can inject 5... Or 10 or even 15 bags in one go... But yeah not feeling rush is definitely combination of shit heroin and high tolerance. I was wondering what r u guys snorting?? H number 3 doesnt work like that so i wonder. Do u have white or grey H??? I had chinese white once(disgusting) but my first year using i got my hands on grey heroin. Not sure how it would work now after all this time but i am optimistic about this one. Havent been able to get it for last 3 years. But just wanted to say. If u guys are having trouble getting high. No wonder street dope is shit. Register on one of the sites like agora, middle earth etc... And find and buy grey heroin!!!! It is the best i ever had... U will have couple of lines. Maybe if u are extreme buy 1 gram. Have 0.5 in two lines .. If that doesnt fuck u up... Which i doubt... Do the same with the other half and I guarantee you will be high... Probably so much u will wonder around your house for few days and then u wake up by that i mean be careful with this stuff... It is the strongest and most fun type of heroin i ever had... I'll tell you the same i told them. If you cannot get high anymore... Buy gray heroin on the internet... Agora, middle earth etc... There is like 30 sites like that... And yeah i guess u can inject it too... I had it about 2-3 years ago and i just had lines... But i remember having 1 nice big line and i was fucked till the next day... Later on i used to take too much and would wake up in the middle of the night at random places around the house... For example naked on the balcony at 4 am either jumping around or crawling or scratching.. It can be dangerous so be careful... Also what works.. Drink 30-100ml of methadone and then smoke some H... Not sure about IV after metha... But smoking works 200% more After i drunk 70ml .... I am on subutex atm and I don't know... I preferred methadone for sure... Subutex doesnt seem to help with the psychological side of withdrawals... Not as much as methadone... Its weird... U can feel the subutex working... But u still wanna smoke... Methadone doesnt make u high... But after it i feel perfect... Don't know why...
