Hydroxyzine & Benadryl

I am prescribed hydroxyzine Pam. I suppose I have built up a tolerance for it because it's not as beneficial to my anxiety and my inability to fall asleep at night. I took my dose around two hours ago and it's not helping. Am I safe to take one or two Benadryls?

I have searched every where for an answer and I can't not find one that makes me feel safe enough to take some Benadryl. I have therapy in he morning and I need to go to sleep.

I've done it plenty of times. It's really no big deal, I'd start with 1 too be safe. I'm literally on benadryl(Diphenhydramine,dalmane,valium,ambien as it write this. About to go to bed. Take care.

If you want. But it's IMO pointless

Hydroxyzine is antihistamine with possible 5ht (seritonin) 2a (specific subclass) receptor

Low doses of benadyrl diphenhydramine work primarily via as a antihistamine

Histamine appears to play some role in alertness and anxiety

Therefore antihistamine may decrease anxiety and cause sedation.

However, many many receptors regulate anxiety and sleepiness so the effect isnt huge.

It's unlikely that if u don't respond to hydroxyzine that benadyrl will help.

And, bendyrls effects are nonlinear high-rises block Mach which may make your anxiety much worse by causing rapid heart rate deep breathing irritated red skin ECT.

Dosages need to be listed for true HR. I wouldn't combine the two.
