Opioids How to remove hypromellose from time release morphine

So, i'm getting some morphine tablets containing hypromellose, and i know that i can dissolve the wax in toluene and be left with morphine crystals after a wash with isopropanol, but ufortunately toluene is hard to come by as of now. i was thinking of using xylene as a solvent instead, will this work?

Unfortunately my chemistry skills are't great otherwise I'd help further but I think the Merke Manual (It's a medical/chem' Manual look it up online!) should be able to tell you in the section on morphine.
