I'm am new to bluelight so if i posted in the wrong Forum i apologize!!

Okay... So to begin i'd like to say i'm not a drug addict i've only had Norco 30 pills for a broken finger about 5 month ago, as well as Tramdol 60 pills during recovery with my broken finger. So basically I take 1 drug already for weight loss and that is adipex. So basically while exercising about 2 months ago i hurt my back pretty bad and it's been pretty painful for the past 2 months and i also haven't been back to work since then. I've talked to a lot of people and they said a doctor would be kind of skeptical about prescribing pain medication to a 19 year old. By the way i don't care what i get just something stronger than Tylenol. But how does someone ask a doctor without it sounding like i'm an addict trying to get drugs? Please, any tips would help me! Thank you all for the replies..

We are not here to help you get your drugs from a doctor. If you already received two different pain med scripts then you already know how. Just go to your doctor tell him what happened and say normal OTC medications are not working. Other than that I imagine this thread is going to get closed, and I will not give you information on how to scam him.

You are correct about the thread getting closed soon. But i probably won't but if i do get other replies hopefully they are a little more considerate than you. Obviously i had a bigger reason and needed pain medicine considering my finger was broken so bad it was bent. And they don't know how much pain i'm in because they can't tell if my back is actually hurt. But i do thank you for the reply though.

If you really don't care if you get anything stronger than Tylenol, it should be sufficient to tell your doctor about your pain, and say I don't care what you give me as long as its stronger than Tylenol.

There is a difference in saying hey guys need help, I am in pain and I think the only thing that is going to help is going to be prescription strength. Or going your route in the thread title saying: How to get Pain Med Prescription? That is strictly against forum rules and you can call my post insensitive all you want. But the fact of the matter is that is against the forum rules here. You might not think much of those rules but they are a part of the BLUA which you are obligated to read before your first post. Seeing as that was your first post, you obviously did not read it or you surely would have re-phrased.

The reason that these rules and standards exist is because more than a few people have tried in the past to get BL closed using references like: They help people scam doctors, or help people find grey market drug vendors online. Over the years as the moderators have become more dead-set in their protection of this site, so have the members, I for one have invested a lot of time recently after getting out of the military in order to help provide REAL Harm Reduction, which is the point, we are here to try to save lives or at least mitigate the damage they do to themselves. Not get people high or tell them things to tell their doctor to get pain medication. In the future a good thread title would be: "In a lot of pain OTC medication not working, what to do now?"

People would have jumped in here with a million suggestions. That is why there are 95 views on this thread and only 3 replies (now 4). Also coming onto a website full of drug addicts and the first thing you say is: "Okay... So to begin i'd like to say i'm not a drug addict" says a few things to me:

1) You are lying
2) You really are not an addict but figured you could come on to a website full of junkies and surely they would know what to say to get pain med from doctors.
3) You are 19, unless you have done some SERIOUS damage to your back you will be getting nothing stronger than Ibuprofen 800 mg. If you have done something serious to your back you would not be sitting around making a membership to a website, you would be running to your parents saying TAKE ME TO THE HOSPITAL so you can get an MRI or an X-ray to figure out what has gone terribly wrong.

A back ache in a 19 year old happens. I am 30 years old and destroyed my back in a Airborne operation whilst in the military, and I only take subutex because I know how risky normal pain meds are. Think on these things, you have a lot to learn.

I do apologize and understand what you mean but somethings you have totally wrong... When I said,"Okay... So to begin i'd like to say i'm not a drug addict" I didn't mean this towards others. I meant i wasn't lying about my pain and i wasn't just some kid looking for drugs. Secondly i have an appointment tomorrow i've been out of work for a week because of my back. And i'm sorry to hear about your back but you really can't compare my pain to your pain. Because the thing is you can't feel my pain i can't feel yours. But i do appreciate your replies though i did learn a lot from you and legitimately do thank you.

If you're truly injured, go the the doctor and he / she will examine you and subsequently prescribe you an appropriate medication for the pain. If you're however lying just to score some shit (I was 19 once too), you're violating the rules brotha man.

You've talked to your doctor before about pain medication, so you know how it works. At 19, unless you have some genetic defect, or have seriously injured your back, you don't need narcotic pain medication. That's an addiction just itching to start (no pun intended). Been there, done that, and bought the t-shirt...opiate withdrawal is a bitch and once you're labeled a pill seeking junkie by your doctor, that label will stick to you for life and it will dictate what medications you're trusted with for the rest of your life.

There's no magic trick man. Just talk honestly to your doctor. "Doc, I've taken this, that, and nothing seems to work. I've been out of work for a week now because the pain is so severe. What can we do?"

If your doctor trusts you, they'll usually prescribe you what's necessary to get you through your injury and that's it.

Thank you sir for the reply! And when i broke my finger i went to an orthopedic Specialist and that's how i got the medicine for my finger. And again guys i'm really not lying.... I just don't want my doctor to feel like Mad Dash (No trash talk intended) and think i'm just a 19 year old looking for a high..

You don't have to be extremely aggressive towards a new user who is straight to the point, and you also didn't even bother to think about the obvious precautions that Payaslow has to take when asking for medication. He got it before, and was lucky. This time he obviously feels as if he needs them again, and it's quite clear that the doctors he will be visiting might be skeptical.
What would you rather the title be? We all know that no matter how sneaky you try to be with the title, the objective Payaslow is clearly going for is pain medication that will actually work for him. The one thing he asked for in this post was advice on how to seem more believable to doctors, even when he's already being truthful.

Closing this. We don't allow threads like this, specifically threads asking about how to get meds out of your doctor. If you don't want your doctor to think you're looking for a high, then work on treating the underlying cause of pain (physio, surgery, anti-inflammatories etc), and for pain relief try absolutely everything in varying combinations before even thinking about going the opioid route. Local anesthetics, NSAIDs, etc.

Ibuprofen or naproxen are much better painkillers than Tylenol, try those. 600mg of ibuprofen should definitely have an effect on inflammatory pain. If you are taking opioids exclusively and no other non-opioid painkillers in adjunct with them then that's going to be a humongous red flag anyway.

If you are only 19 then you should recover a lot better than someone who's 65, too...
