Science How many shades of color do YOU see in this image?

This has been going around twitter for the last few days. It reminds me of the debate about the picture of the shoes, etc, etc.

How many shades of color do you see below?

I see 11 fairly distinct bands. Others reckon they see more, others as few as 3 lol:

I see more vertical lines than distinct shades.

I see 11 blocks of color, but if we're honest about the actual color, id have to say 7 or 8 distinctly different ones.

Ok I've changed my mind. I reckon I can see 12 if I include that little one to the right left of the flesh pink band:

Yes. I see 6 colors, if you want to call them that. The rest is kind of a design that makes the color appear darker to me; from left the right

I see a color differentiation about every inch.
This one is very fucking cool. Look at that picture for 25-30 seconds then close your eyes.

I see between 12 and 20-ish unique shades depending upon the relative angle my phone screen is to my eyes.

If I look at it at an exactly 90 degree angle, I see 13 unique shades.
