Hi everyone! Just made this account. So, something of me. Im on suboxone treatment, suboxone dose is 16mg. Im also prescribed clonazepam or actually im going thru taper right now, started from 6mg clonazepam a day, now only 0,5mg a day. I have time with a doctor on wednesday so im going to try get benzos back because i really need them. Here in Finland doctors most commonly use oxazepam or clonazepam, sometimes some other benzo. But im trying to get 1,5mg clonazepam/day or 3-4 15mg/30mg oxazepam/day. Im also prescribed mirtazapin 15mg a day. Started mirtazapin at saturday so its a new thing for me. Theres some info of me. But i have a questions also. Whats the onset of oxazepam and duration of action of oxazepam? I have used oxazepam and have my own opinion of the times but i wanna know what others have experienced with oxazepam. Sorry for bad english.

Welcome to Bluelight @Sebud!

Oxazepam has a short half life of 5-15 hours, and also a relatively slow onset of 30-60 minutes. Apparently it peaks around 2-3 hours.

This is a nice intro, but i'm going to shoot this over to Basic Drug Discussion, where benzos are often talked about, to see if others can chime in with their experiences. Mental Health is also a cool sub-forum, you should check it out sometime!

Feel free to make another intro thread if you'd like :)

Oxazepam seems to take a long time to kick in for me.other benzos take 10 mins oxazepam takes an HR to a few hrs to really feel it.lasts a while though.

Thats the only benzo ive never taken lol !! is meant to be quite weak too! The Americans love to hand out benzos btw! Its a money making scheme now btw! It used to be Oxycodone now its potent benzos.

The heathcare system in the US is all over the pace!! God bless the UK NHS! The NHS standards are excellent if not better than the US healthcare system!

Oxazepam isn't exactly weak tablet wise (I used to get 30mg tablets) but mg wise it's about the same as diazepam/temazepam.try and get the 30mg ones if u can.

I was taking oxazepam, 30 mg, during a year approximately. I cannot tell many things regarding its therapeutic effects, because at that time my life was chaotic, I was using a lot of other drugs along with it.

Anyway I found it less sedating than valium and alprazolam. it is nice for social phobia or for those who need to take it during working hours.

It is pretty common in Europe in general, when I was living in Portugal and in France, I've noticed that it was "the first choice"

Its got nothing on Clonazepam and Alprazolam. Even Lorazepam is stronger!

We do? That's funny, I need Xanax for pain (gut) and my doctor told me to fuck off in so many words. I wana live in this benzo friendly America that you speak of!

That's funny I can get pretty much any benzo my heart desires from my psychiatrist, but when it comes to opioids for my chronic pain my doctors tell me to fuck off LOL.

I think they're getting slightly stricter when it comes to handing out benzos, but we still do give them out like nothing.

If only we could do a swap.

You need to see a pain specialist if u can't get anything off doctors.id recommend stocking up on benzos if they're going to get tighter with restrictions
