Not much mention of SPUN on this thread unless I missed them ...... what did all the tweekers think of this one?

Lion King - probably number one in my books :D
Alices Restaurant - more random than anything
from dusk till dawn - alround hillarious!
can't be fucked naming more... there is so many though :D

wow I thought Alices Restaurant was just a song by that dude from the 60~70's. Its a movie to!!! COOL

Bump!

Dead Leaves is fantastic on the way up on acid. It's an animated manga (which, might I add, is not the same thing as anime), complete with lots of sudden movements and abrasive colours. About 60 seconds into the film, the action starts and doesn't stop until the end. It's only 50 minutes long, so it's perfect for the LSD come-up. Very random story, awesome trippy characters, and a lot of crazy battle scenes. Recommended for all trippers!

Spun.
a movie about speed with basically no meaning.
I dont think no ones mentioned scarface yet.

eXistenZ is a good movie to fuck ur head

Best movie for a comedown people- Finding Nemo!
That movie will make anyones day.

Anyone enjoy predetor on a come down? Arnie saves my brain!

So many interesting characters and breath-taking scenes, this movie keeps your eyes and mind fixed until the credits roll up the screen.

I really want to see this movie sober, but I've yet to come across it again at the video store.

4 / 5 Stars.

Howls is out in stores now. Another good Miyazaki film is Spirited Away (i havn't read the whole thread, so I apologise if someone has mentioned it already). I didn't really like Howls, but I love Spirited Away. With any psychedelic it would be a blast. It's full of bright colours and weird characters, farkn good movie.

Fear And Loathing in Las Vagas. The Best movie out there for comedowns. I dont recommend watching it on a reallly bad comedown if u havnt seen it before. Ived watched it about 5 times now, the 3rd n 4th time i watched it was in the same morning and i tripped out hardcore boths times i watched it. very interesting movie

haha, i saw Allegro Non Troppo on SBS by chance one night. that is a must see! i was enthralled!

Ah yes, Allegro Non Troppo. I remember seeing that years ago, I think they threw it in as one of the trippy old movies on Foxtel back in the days of Tabitha's Graveyard Shift (I wish they'd bring that back!). Absolutley beautiful... doesn't quite stand up to the real Fantasia, but the "evolution" vignette is GENIUS, and the story of the abandoned cat set to "Valse Triste" broke my heart. *tears*

Of course, any Miyazaki movie is a must... and speaking of cool Japanese stuff, I just ordered Cornelius' DVD Five Point One, which I think has a lot of the videos he uses in his live show. Can't wait to watch it on my next trip!

Spun made a joke of triyng to convey using meth. (not that i ever have.)
The story went no where and the ending was pointless.

Just because its about drugs doesnt make spun a good movie.

Nevertheless it was a good movie. As for Spirited Away, wow. I didn't like anime, in fact I pretty much hated japanese animation until I saw this movie - then I was changed. I remember the exact moment in fact, it was when Chihiro was on the bridge and then Haku blows that magic stuff out of his hand. Mind blowing (for me anyway, probably helped that I was baked).

My favourites when I've been on drugs:

* The People vs. Larry Flint (fab autobiography movie of a porno king, and believe it or not Courtney Love gives a half decent performance in this)

* Rock Star - Mark Whalberg & Jennifer Anniston... yeah, it's pure schmaltzy 90's cock-rock, but I love this movie

* Studio 54 - If anyone hasn't seen this, you're missing out on a FAB drug movie, it's so cool... just really atmospheric and evocative of that 70's disco world

* The Doors - definitely, definitely one of my faves. "You killed the chook!!"

* Boogie Nights - Drugs, sex, Mark Whalberg's huge penis, need I say more!

I also occasionally like to watch "Spun" (while Spun, of course ;) ), and I love Magnolia.... sensational film, but a little maudaulin if you're not in the mood for contemplativeness.
