can anyone give me some info on tiagabine's value therapeutically for anxiety and also I guess recreationally? it is a GABA reuptake inhibitor and primarily an anticonvulsant, though interestingly I think I recall reading that it sometimes significantly lowers the seizure threshold in individuals w/o epilepsy.
I just got prescribed 4mg/day (2+2) for anxiety and my psychiatrist said next time I came in we could double that dose. my psychiatrist is dead set on never giving me anything that could ever be perceived as "fun" or "abuseable" in any way, thus I am kind of expecting this to be a neither pleasant nor effectively anxiolytic medication, but I'm quite desperate so I'm willing to try anything.
