Okay peoples ... looking forward to feedback here!

First Dates! The nerves, the tension, where to go, what to do, what to wear ....

I've been on my fair share of first dates. And, as always ... if I'm not keen the guy is and vice versa ... So - what's the secret?

Describe your perfect first date :D

muzby's rules for sure fire loving....

a perfect first date really depends on the person...

so i'll give u some do's and donts...

DO

  • take pride in your appearance
  • turn up on time
  • get them to talk about themselves
  • ask generic questions
  • make her laugh
  • pay. even if she offers.
  • take her somewhere nice. water helps.
  • talk about funny stories
  • talk about you work (not too much), sport, anything that will make you look better than u actually are
  • if you say you'll call, call.
  • clean your teeth
  • walk her to her car / front door
  • thank her for a good nite, even if it was shit.
  • kiss - but only if she's giving signals. a good way to start is to give a brief hug, and a light kiss on the cheek. she'll hold on if she wants more.

DON'T

  • talk about ex's (that can come later on.. after a few more dates.. and wait for her to start it...)
  • be sleazy
  • talk about drunken escapades with your mates
  • perve on the waitress
  • burp, fart or do anything like that
  • talk about drugs
  • ask very personal questions
  • make her feel pressured
  • complain about the expensive meal she just ordered
  • expect sex.
  • play hard to get, or any other of those childish games... if you like someone, go for them!

do people still go on proper dates?

hmm, just thinking back, i haven't gone to one for a long time.

im 19 and if i have been on a proper date, i cant remember it..... closest thing i have ever done is gone to the movies lol

hoo-ray for never growing up 8(

my tips for a successful night with a woman

1) chloroform
2) rope
3) car

or maybe thats just me :(

eze451 I've never been on a date either and I doubt I ever will. If anyone ever asked me out on a date I would do something really stupid and they'd never want to see me again. Better for me to just keep it simple.

That being said Muzby's tips sound like good ones to follow!

What a brilliantly timed thread.

Oh dude that's wrong! Why would you need rope if they are already chloroformed out?

we are in the same boat lol
i would seriously have no idea...... far too immature me thinks

Ummm....

Don't talk about any sicknesses you have, or diseases! - Hypocondria ALERT!

Don't focus to much attention on yourself, or talk about yourself to much :D

shals!

Then again, I don't date either!

I do! I have been on lots of dates! I love them =D although they can be a bit awkward at times...i'm so all for the "don't talk about your ex" thing. Actually muzby has that list down pat i reckon ;)

No one's really spoken about the where to go, what to do bit. For myself an ideal first 'date' does not involve either dinner or movies.

I like doing the coffee thing myself as it's pretty casual, low pressure and you can actually talk rather than stare passively at a screen for 2 hours and also being coffee you can make a hasty exit if needed or drag it out as long as you like if it'll all going nicely! :)

A friend of mine's first date with his current GF involved meeting for breakfast and they ended up spending the whole day together.
