Hi, i am basically wondering how long it takes to build up a fioricet tolerance, and how long of a break should you take from them to go back to the original tolerance you ha when first taking them.

depends on how much you were taking and how often. it stays in your system for a while as it has a long half life.

short answer: probably 2 weeks - a month. even then you risk building a permanent tolerance if you're binging regularly and then it can be months or even for life. please be careful with barbituates.

I've been prescribed fioricet (butalibital and some NSAID) for migraines in the past, however, the medical community seems to be in the midst of a mass exodus from actively prescribing it.

If you abuse them, tolerance will build quickly and you won't be feeling much after about a week. If you use them as prescribed, they can work smoothly for a couple of months, but a tolerance build none the less.

Take them as infrequently as possible, use them as a last resort when a quiet space, an Excedrin, a cool towel, and darkness don't work.
