Harm Reduction Extracting active ingredients from pills?

How do i extract the main opiates from tablets without all the fillers and binders? This isn't for injecting but can i just use micron filters the same way needle users do? Is the only way to get it mixed with water or is there any way to extract it into any other forms?

You can extract using any solvent that your target drug is soluble in, for opioids water, alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, methanol probably lots more. Obviously with ethanol or water you can just drink it but with toxic solvents after extracting and filtering you will need to evap off the isopropyl or other (non-drinking) alcohol.

some of the binders will also be pulled into the solvent if they are also soluble in it so you can choose which one to use based on being able to dissolve the target compound while dissolving the least amount of binders
