Benzos Etizolam powder measuring - is it impossible even with a good scale?

I am aware of the volumetric dosing method, but for reasons that isn't possible for me. Note, I don't currently have any etiz so I' m not desperately trying to ingest this stuff either. This is more out of curiosity.

So assuming that I had a high quality scale, am I correct to assume that even just by transferring the material around I would be losing significant amounts of the substance? Or are there any instruments that could prevent this?

You'd need a miligram scale, the ones with the better ratings and higher prices will tend to provide the better results.
I have "made it work" with a less expensive miligram scale I found, as long as it's calibrated correctly, I usually weigh the material on top of my calibration weights, to provide the most precise measurement. It can be off by as much as 4mg in some cases, so yeah, measure accordingly.
