Misc DXM and cross-tolerance with topical anesthetics, question

Does topical anesthetics exhibit a cross tolerance with DXM? I looked up NMDA interaction with tetracaine, lidocaine, and benzocaine. It seems there is, but I don't know if there is any noticable interaction between them. Some procedures use one or more than one of these ( such as: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4896822/ ) and I was curious if topical anesthetic like this would interact with DXM.

Before delving into this subject can I ask how this would effect you? As a harm reduction site we look for questions or problems where we can help.

Have you had a procedure done and maybe enjoy 2nd plateau DXM effects but aren't hitting it because of a possible topical med? Or something similar to this scenario?
