I think this already exists and I ran across it while studying a 1970's era index of psychoactive substances, it was either a trichloro-substituted DO-x or a di-chloro DO-x with a methoxy group in the 2',4',5' substitution pattern. It was categorized as a hallucinogen, I'll have to see if I can find it again (my interest being chiefly stimulant-related).~mod edit~: This is a thread for coming up with creative names for existing or novel psychedelics or other drugs, courtesy of an idea that Dresden provided.
DO-SHIVA
Neurotoxins perform quite well as hallucinogens, anyway. In the regard that hallucinogen=psychomimetic in much of the research that exists pre-1980's. "Psychedelic" is a nickname that carries much less baggage in this regard, being to my understanding a made-up word by individuals sympathetic to the cause. Most of those compounds would perform poorly as hallucinogens. 4-iodoamphetamine is already known as a neurotoxin for instance.
Probably worth the effort to spend less time thinking up silly names and more time applying rational QSAR principles.
The term ("mind-manifesting") was made up by Humphrey Osmond a good decade or more before the drugs became a cultural phenomenon. Some of the early researchers hated it. I think Leary, Metzner and Alpert was the first to bring it to prominence."Psychedelic" is a nickname that carries much less baggage in this regard, being to my understanding a made-up word by individuals sympathetic to the cause.
