Heroin dope taper to detox?

Hi. Im trying to get clean from h, is there any reason (BESIDES the fact that it will be hard to control myself) i mean like a medical/scientific/whatever reason that a taper will not work just using my doc gradually less and less in the course of about 2 weeks in order to not go thru harsh acute withdrawl symptoms?

Methadone and bupe tapers worked great for me when i could afford detox, but unfortunately i cant get my hands on anything but the real thing...

Idk obviously it will be hard to control my use like that, but im just really trying to avoid that 3/4 days of hell; but i dont know if this can work. any help would be very much appreciated. much love to the bluelight family :D
 
I did it from using 120-200 mgs of oc. The one week i did a 8o daily. the following a 40 daily, the 3rd week a 20 daily. and then did a 2o every other ay for the 4th week. it was alot easier for me to handle withdraws than my cold turkey attempt. The key for sticking to this is self will, but i had my gf hold mine for me and so i couldn't find them she took my stash to her parent's house. Hope that helps.
 
Possible, but like you said, unlikely. It's just difficult to go through that when you know taking a little bit more will make everything much better.


If you decide to do it, work a taper that's as gradual as possible. If you're using 100mg per day, drop off 10mg every other day, etc. That should help your chances.

Agreed.

I also wanted to add if you're going to attempt a taper on your doc, if possible buy everything at once, mix everything together, then divide into single doses. This way you at least guarantee each dose will be equal in strength. I personally don't think it's possible to taper with a strong short acting opiate.. but if you can pull it off then more power to you.
 
I admire you for even trying this!! I guess though that it would be a good thing to do if you could taper down on your drug of choice, and then maybe after a few weeks of doing so, you can manage to buy a few suboxone's, or a little methadone and finish your detox using that.
