Do Drug Documentaries Fund Users

So this is my first post, started an account here actually because of this thought. So all these drug documentaries(drugs inc, etc) interview or even shadow drug users. These shows most likely have to compensate these users for their time and many are into "hard" drugs and would therefore in my thoughts at least go score right after they get payed, in fact any of the footage of them going to score or just using they probaby could get the film crew to pay or else they refuse to go on.
Of course in this day many people might willingly undergo the proccess without compensation because they are attention seekers wanting to be the one to show the world, although i doubt this is the case for they would be seen by any viewer/family member etc.
Many of these documentaries are overly biased and lean towards the helping side although i can't imagine any of the more integrated(into the addiction)addicts would spend the money on anything else.
I have no problem with it whatsoever but im just poking some smot and had the thought.

I've often wondered WHY some of the bigger dealers go on drugs inc, sure they sort of hide some of their identity but with the way the DEA and other sections of LE are why would these people risk it?

I saw an episode of drugs inc the other day about porn stars and drugs and one chick was saying she doesn't wont people to know she is a crystal meth addict all the while not concealing her identity at all...?

I'm curious how much these people get paid too, surely they arent just doing it for attention.

There were people from drugs inc (production people) here on BL asking for people who wonted to be on the show or who knew people who might.

I'd like to hear anyone who might know how it all works in terms of payment etc. My biggest worry if I was based in the US and a big dealer and going on this show would be that the DEA would work out my identity and arrest me and charge me, some of what these guys do would get some major jail time, who in their right mind would wont to risk going on this show just for a few grand or whatever? The big dudes would make that money easy without the added risk of exposure on TV.

^ your not the first to wonder this poledriver.

Also the heroin dealer in the Seattle episode was Steven Lloyd Saddler aka "nod" the informant from Silkroad. I often wonder are the dealers people who've already been busted and cooperated. I can't imagine many people moving weight especially in the U.S. wanting to be involved otherwise.

theree was this doc on discovery about MDMA and they made it look like it was some animal documentary, it was hilarious. They didnt actually intend for it to be funny..it just looked silly as hell

like poledriver said that also make no sense to me, who in the right mind would get on cam like that i have no idea...i bet most of them just staged show

theres plenty very good ones non commercial documentaries

firstly, i wouldn't doubt that the drugs being used are simply props and the people are actors or addicts being paid to portray their lifestyle for a glance at the hardcore level of using.

i also wouldn't doubt that the production people will prefer that the users/actors actually use real dope to produce the 'real look' of a nod or stim-rush.

so i'd say they pay the user and let them do what they want with the money (hoping they score to get high for them) rather than them giving them drugs.

they pay token amounts I think, nothing much, and even that sometimes, not necessarily always
I was approached once to be on "drugs, inc" a good few years ago through an intermediary
they told me about how I can wear a mask and have my voice digitally altered and shit
went through all the ways they'd keep me confidential or whatever
I told them to fuck off for obvious reasons
most of the people on these shows I think it is more an attention seeking thing
but yes, the people and the drugs are real

I'm new here, so bear with me. So aside from no proof, how come the producers or someone on one of these real documentary shows, not be held liable for any of the actions of the druggie? I mean they are at least witnesses to drug abuse or illegal activity. How come they are not accomplices in any stage of the production?
